Tanzanian superstar,  Diamond Platnumz teamed up with international R&B sensation, ,  Ne-Yo on a newly released video ‘Marry You’, just in time for his brand new recording deal with Universal Music.The musician is the first East African artist to sign with Universal Music Africa.

Last year, we told you guys that Ne-Yo was in Kenya for a  Coke Studio Africa episode. read here Now, he has officially collaborated with an African artist and speaking Swahili!

The video, was shot in Los Angeles and Johannesburg, and the song was recorded in Nairobi, Kenya.

‘Marry You’ is the first project Diamond Platnumz has released with Universal Music. The collaboration was a result of the two artists meeting at the 2015 MTV Africa Music Awards in Durban, South Africa. It’s great to see American artist collaborating with African artist and bridging the musical gap. It’s a confirmation that music is universal and it can be enjoyed by anyone from anywhere.
